Meet Lori

Certified Health Coach & Nutrition Expert

Lori Lapin is the proud owner of Strong Foundations, a personal training facility located on Forest Drive in Forest Acres. Lori has been successfully driven by her love and passion for fitness and health for the past 35 years; moreover, she has owned and operated Strong Foundations for the past 10 years. Strong Foundations welcomes “all stage and all ages” of fitness with energetic classes and a welcoming environment. The unique studio offers a wide range of different exercise equipment for both aerobic and strength training. Lori specializes in working with individuals and small groups focusing on core strength and overall fitness. Her mission is to cater to the unique, individual needs of her clients through effective training.

Even more special, this studio is very personal; many friendships have blossomed from this gym. The social impact these members have on one another shines, holding each other accountable.

The motivation behind Lori’s 5:30 a.m. mornings at work are her members. Lori loves that her passion for fitness has such an immense, positive change on so many lives. She loves giving back to the community by helping others. She encourages all to always keep a positive attitude and to never stop moving. Fitness is not about looks or the number on the scale, but instead living an active, healthy lifestyle for better health outcomes.

Q & A

What is your favorite food?

“Salmon, guacamole, salsa and chips ”

Do you have any pets?

“I have two rescue dogs. Bandit, a mixed breed and Ellie, a walker hound. Bandit goes to the gym daily.”

What is your favorite quality about what you do?

“I change it up! I strive to never do the same thing twice and to keep classes unique. Some days we will be running stairs and other days I will be implementing yoga into workouts. I just want to encourage people to try different things and reach outside of their comfort zone.”

You certainly live an active lifestyle, what activities do you enjoy in your leisure time?

“I love to hike, road bike, and paddleboard but, even more so, climbing and training for big events. Competition is my main motivation. Not to win, just to push myself and my body as far as I can. But overall, travelling and experiences with friends and family are my favorite things to do. I love exploring different studios in different cities.

Tell us more about Strong Roots?

Lori has recruited a team, StrongRoots, to participate in the 28 mile hike to help Cure Kids With Cancer. StrongRoots has been training in 27 degree weather and working hard to be ready for this event. The event will be April 28th in the Foothills of South Carolina. They’re also raising money to support CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, a national non-profit foundation whose mission is to fund and support targeted and innovative children’s cancer research, with measurable results. In addition, they are the authoritative source for information resources about children’s cancer for families and their support systems. A donation would be fabulous, but if you would like to join the team, Lori will help you train at Strong Foundations to get you ready for the ultimate challenge. There are also organized group hikes as another training option. Help them tell children’s cancer to take a hike!
